Amala Center Nepal

Gegye Yongyal Peace Land Monastarty

A sanctuary, a refuge, a true home for yogis and spiritual practitioners—this is the heart of our vision.

We are building the Gegye Yongyal Pure Lands Monastery in Sindhupalchok, Nepal—a spiritual home for practice, learning, and service. Your support will help create a sanctuary where the teachings of the Dharma can flourish for generations to come. Rooted in compassion and guided by the teachings of the Dharma, this monastery will become a spiritual refuge where monks, practitioners, and the local community can gather to study, meditate, and cultivate wisdom for the benefit of all beings.

The Sacred Land – Sindhupalchok

Sindhupalchok is not only my hometown but also a deeply sacred land, blessed by the presence of Guru Rinpoche and countless great practitioners throughout history. Pilgrims from far and wide continue to visit its holy sites seeking spiritual connection and blessings.

Despite its profound significance, this sacred region still lacks a monastery where monks, practitioners, and local devotees can gather to study, meditate, and uphold the Dharma in a stable and nurturing environment.

Establishing a monastery here would fulfill both personal and spiritual aspirations. It would serve as a spiritual refuge, preserve a living lineage of sacred teachings, and support the local community with compassion and wisdom.

If such a monastery were to be built in Sindhupalchok, I would wholeheartedly return to live and serve there—dedicating my life to guiding others on the path of awakening.

History A Spiritual Mission Rooted in Compassion

Most of the monasteries established in India and Nepal today are branches of their principal seats in Tibet or China.

However, H.E. Gegye Yongyal Rinpoche’s main seat, Gegye Tashi Choling Monastery, located in Tibet, has not had any branch in either India or Nepal until now.

After many years of heartfelt prayers and aspirations, and with careful contemplation of what would bring the greatest benefit to sentient beings, Rinpoche’s devoted students and followers requested the establishment of a spiritual branch in Nepal.

Their sincere wish was to create a space where the sacred teachings of Rinpoche could flourish through practice, study, and service.

In response, Amala Center was founded in Nepal — Rinpoche’s first initiative outside Tibet.

This compassionate project was born from his deep commitment to the Dharma and the welfare of others.

A Word From Our Member

When I was young, life introduced me to countless paths and experiences, yet nothing ever touched my soul as deeply as the blessings of my beloved Guru, Karmapa. His blessings awakened within me a sense of purpose, inner strength, and unshakable faith—faith that I, too, could rise to serve humanity, especially through the wisdom and way of Buddhism.

The core of Buddha’s teachings on mind is beautifully preserved in the great scripture of logic and cognition known as the Pramana Sutra—teachings that illuminate the nature of consciousness, emotion, and the path beyond suffering. Upon this foundation of wisdom, the eight great Indian scholars—including the noble yogis Nāgārjuna, Āryadeva, Asaṅga, Vasubandhu and others—built the roots of Buddhist philosophy and the ancient sacred science of mind.

Buddhist practice embraces devotion, offering, faith, and the cultivation of wisdom. Offerings made to Buddha and Sangha open the door to blessings, protection, and awakened insight. When a disciple meets an authentic Guru, one offers faith and heartfelt devotion—not out of attachment, but to uncover the innate Buddha Mind within. Through this sacred connection, practitioners of the Vajrayana path continuously engage in the practices of emptiness and bodhichitta—the union of boundless love and profound realization—the true gateway to enlightenment.

For Buddhism to thrive through time, three sacred pillars have always been needed:
• A Temple where Dharma lives,
• A Retreat home where yogis awaken,
• And a Realized Teacher who embodies compassion and wisdom.
Guided by this timeless truth, we now aspire to build such a living refuge in Nepal and New York —a place where the lineage, teachings, and blessings of Buddha Dharma can continue without decline. Our sacred initiative, the Gegye Yongyal Pure Land Monastery in Sindhupalchok, Nepal, will stand as that home—holding the authentic lineage, nurturing practitioners, preserving wisdom, and giving rise to peace, compassion, and understanding for generations to come.

May this monastery become a lamp of wisdom for the world,
a cradle for realized beings,
and a field of collective merit for humanity.

With prayers for peace and liberation,
Sindhupalchok, Nepal
A home where compassion takes form and liberation begins
