In a world increasingly shaped by conflict, uncertainty, and division, the need for collective prayer and spiritual unity has never been greater. At Amala Center Nepal, we organize and facilitate global prayer gatherings that bring together practitioners, communities, and supporters from around the world with a shared intention of cultivating peace and compassion. These gatherings create a space where individuals can unite in prayer, reflection, and spiritual practice—strengthening the collective aspiration for harmony, healing, and wellbeing for all beings. Through these initiatives, we aim to revive the power of collective prayer as a force for positive change in the world.

The Invisible Crisis
Children Growing Up Without Education or Shelter
In many communities, underprivileged children grow up without access to proper education or safe living conditions. Poverty forces many of them to face uncertain futures, limiting their opportunities for growth and stability.
Limited Access to Basic Healthcare
For many individuals, even basic healthcare services such as dental or eye care remain out of reach. In underserved areas, the lack of medical support leads to untreated conditions and long-term health challenges.
A World in Need of Peace
Across the world, conflict, division, and uncertainty continue to affect countless lives. Communities struggle with fear, instability, and a growing sense of disconnection, creating an urgent need for peace, compassion, and spiritual harmony.
Monks Living Without Basic Support
Many monks dedicate their lives to spiritual practice and service, yet some lack access to basic necessities such as food, shelter, and educational resources. Without proper support, their ability to continue their spiritual path becomes increasingly difficult.
The Decline of Collective Prayer and Spiritual Connection
In many places, the practice of coming together for prayer and spiritual reflection is fading. As this connection weakens, societies often lose a powerful source of unity, hope, and shared purpose.
Rising Mental Health Struggles in Communities
Mental health challenges are becoming more common, yet many people lack access to guidance, support, or safe spaces for healing. Stress, isolation, and emotional suffering often remain unseen and unaddressed.
Programs That Transform Lives
At Amala Center Nepal, we focus on the challenges that continue to affect vulnerable communities across Nepal. Many individuals—especially children, monks, and underserved families—face hardships that limit their ability to live healthy, stable, and meaningful lives. Our work is centered on addressing these critical issues through compassionate action, community support, and spiritual guidance.
Empowering through Education
At Amala Center Nepal, we believe that education is one of the most powerful ways to break the cycle of poverty and create lasting change. Many children in underserved communities are unable to attend school simply because their families cannot afford tuition, supplies, or basic educational needs. Through our sponsorship programs, we support these children by providing access to education, school resources, and the stability they need to learn and grow. By investing in their education today, we aim to empower them with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities needed to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
Organize Health Camps at Remote areas
In many remote and underserved regions of Nepal, access to basic healthcare remains a significant challenge. Communities living far from medical facilities often go without regular checkups, early diagnosis, or essential treatment. Through the organization of health camps in these remote areas, Amala Center Nepal works to bring medical support directly to those who need it most. By collaborating with healthcare professionals and volunteers, these camps provide basic medical consultations, health screenings, and essential care, helping improve the wellbeing of individuals and families who would otherwise have limited access to healthcare services.
Facilitating Global Prayer Gatherings for Peace
Providing Support for Monks Beyond Monastic Institutions
Many monks dedicate their lives to spiritual practice and serving their communities, yet often struggle to meet even their most basic needs outside monastic institutions. Without reliable access to food, healthcare, and essential resources, their ability to continue their spiritual work is at risk. At Amala Center Nepal, we provide holistic support to monks living beyond formal institutions—ensuring they have the resources, care, and guidance needed to sustain their practices with dignity and focus. Through our initiatives, we help these spiritual practitioners continue their vital role in nurturing faith, community, and inner peace.
Retreat Programs Promoting Mental Wellness and Inner Balance
Our retreat programs are designed to provide individuals with a sanctuary from the stresses of daily life, offering a space to reconnect with themselves and cultivate inner peace. Through guided meditation, mindfulness practices, and structured wellness activities, participants develop tools to manage stress, improve emotional resilience, and restore mental balance. These retreats not only nurture personal well-being but also foster a sense of community, helping participants experience harmony within themselves and with those around them.
Addressing the Decline of Collective Prayer and Spiritual Practice
In today’s fast-paced world, many communities are losing the vital practice of collective prayer and shared spiritual connection. This decline not only weakens cultural and religious traditions but also erodes the sense of community, inner peace, and moral guidance that these practices provide. At Amala Center Nepal, we work to revive and strengthen these spiritual traditions through community gatherings, guided meditation, and teachings that reconnect individuals with their faith and with each other. By fostering shared spiritual practices, we help rebuild the bonds that unite communities, nurture resilience, and inspire a deeper sense of purpose in everyday life.
Our Founder
His Eminence Gegye Yongyal Tulku Rinpoche
H.E. Gegye Yongyal Tulku Rinpoche is a revered Buddhist master, scholar, and humanitarian whose life is a living expression of compassion, wisdom, and selfless service. Born in 1992 — the Water Monkey Year — to a deeply religious Gegye family in the holy land of Nepal, near the great Boudhanath Stupa, Rinpoche showed many auspicious signs at birth. Gegyeyongyalrinpoche His arrival into this world was recognized from the very beginning as something extraordinary.
His first name was given by H.H. Drubwang Penor Rinpoche, who at that very moment acknowledged to Rinpoche’s mother that this was a very special child. At the age of seven, Rinpoche was recognized as the reincarnation of the previous Gegye Yongyal Rinpoche by a wandering Terton Lama of Kham. Gegyeyongyalrinpoche This recognition connected him to an ancient and unbroken lineage of awakened masters stretching back through centuries of Himalayan Buddhist tradition.
As the third seat reincarnate Trulku of Gegye Tashi Choling Monastery in Nyari, at the foot of Mount Kailash, Rinpoche was formally enthroned at the monastery, and His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa conducted his hair-cutting and name-giving ceremony in India. New York Insight Meditation Center In 2010, Rinpoche enrolled at Bokar Monastery under the guidance of Kyabje Bokar Khenchen Lodoe Donyo Rinpoche, Gegyeyongyalrinpoche deepening his mastery of sacred texts and contemplative practice under some of the most respected teachers of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
Upcoming Projects
Gegye Yongyal Pure Land Monastary Project
A sanctuary, a refuge, a true home for yogis and spiritual practitioners—this is the heart of our vision.
“A word on our vision from our member”
When I was young, life introduced me to many paths and experiences, yet nothing ever touched my soul as deeply as the blessings of my beloved Guru, Karmapa. His blessings awakened within me a profound sense of purpose, inner strength, and unshakable faith—faith that I, too, could serve humanity through the wisdom and compassionate path of Buddhism.
The essence of the Buddha’s teachings on the mind is beautifully preserved in the great scripture of logic and cognition known as the Pramāṇa Sūtra. These teachings illuminate the nature of consciousness, emotion, and the path beyond suffering. Upon this foundation of wisdom, the eight great Indian scholars—including the noble yogis Nāgārjuna, Āryadeva, Asaṅga, and Vasubandhu—established the roots of Buddhist philosophy and the ancient sacred science of mind.
Buddhist practice embraces devotion, offering, faith, and the cultivation of wisdom. Offerings made to the Buddha and Sangha open the door to blessings, protection, and awakened insight. When a disciple meets an authentic Guru, one offers faith and heartfelt devotion—not out of attachment, but to uncover the innate Buddha Mind within. Through this sacred connection, practitioners of the Vajrayana path continually engage in the practices of emptiness and bodhichitta—the union of boundless love and profound realization, the true gateway to enlightenment.
For Buddhism to flourish through time, three sacred pillars have always been needed:
• A Temple where Dharma lives
• A Retreat home where yogis awaken
• And a Realized Teacher who embodies compassion and wisdom
Guided by this timeless truth, we aspire to build such a living refuge in Nepal and New York—a place where the lineage, teachings, and blessings of Buddha Dharma can continue without decline.
Our sacred initiative, the Gegye Yongyal Pure Land Monastery in Sindhupalchok, Nepal, will stand as that home—holding the authentic lineage, nurturing practitioners, preserving wisdom, and giving rise to peace, compassion, and understanding for generations to come.
Stories of change
Pasang Sherpa – From Gorkha to Overseas
In the quiet mountain villages of Gorkha, where life is simple but often filled with hardship, many young people dream of a future beyond the limits of their circumstances. For Pasang Sherpa, that dream once seemed almost impossible.
Monks of Sindhupalchok – Finding Education Beyond the Monastery
High in the hills of Sindhupalchok, where the mountains rise quietly above scattered villages, many children are sent to monasteries at a very young age. For some families, it is a way to give their children shelter, discipline, and a spiritual path when life’s hardships make other opportunities difficult.
