Our Mission : Bridging Spirituality and Social Impact

Empowering Through Education

Rinpoche’s dedication to education is deeply rooted in his family values. His mother compassionately sponsored the education of many children as an act of social service, and his aunt led the Siddharta Foundation, which helped support numerous students in need. These early influences planted the seed for Rinpoche’s lifelong commitment to supporting children and education.

Rinpoche often shares his aspiration:

“I wish the education system in Nepal could provide free education like in the United States and other developed nations.”

Through Amala Center Nepal, many children have received support in the form of food, shelter, and educational assistance, based on the belief that every child has the fundamental right to education.

To date, the center has supported hundreds of children, many of whom have gone on to build stable and successful lives.

Healthcare

Amala Center was founded from Rinpoche’s sincere aspiration to serve the community through both spiritual practice and humanitarian service.

One of the early supporters of this mission was Dr. Hanna, who believed in Rinpoche’s vision and generously supported the center’s initial health initiatives. During this period, the community raised various concerns and operational challenges, which eventually led Rinpoche to make the difficult decision to part ways with his respected friend, student, and sponsor for the greater good of the organization.

Rinpoche has openly reflected on this challenging moment, saying:

“Sometimes I wish I were not a reincarnated lama but simply a normal person, because decisions made for the greater good can be very difficult.”

Despite these challenges, Amala Center successfully organized its first Dental Health Camp, led by Dr. Hanna with support from dentist Dr. Dawa Sherpa. The three-day health camp was held on February 23–25, 2022, providing much-needed dental care to the local community.

Although additional health camps have not yet been organized since then, Amala Center continues to look forward to collaborating with doctors, health professionals, teachers, and life coaches who wish to contribute their expertise in service to the wider Nepali community.

The "Spiritual Solution"

His Eminence Gegye Yongyal Rinpoche is a respected spiritual leader within the Kagyu–Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and a dedicated teacher of Buddhist meditation and philosophy. Through the establishment of Amala Center Nepal, Rinpoche has created a space where people from all backgrounds can study, practice, and experience authentic Buddhist teachings.

Rinpoche regularly invites highly qualified Khenpos and Lopons to guide the community in studying Buddhist philosophy, learning sacred scriptures, and deepening spiritual practice. The center offers opportunities for individuals to participate in meditation sessions, scriptural studies, and short retreats ranging from one hour to seven days.

In addition to teachings and retreats, the center offers Buddhist rituals, prayers, and spiritual guidance free of charge, reflecting Rinpoche’s commitment to making spirituality accessible to everyone.

One of the most significant accomplishments of Amala Center has been the Global World Peace Prayer Movement, which has united practitioners and communities from many countries including Nepal, India, Taiwan, Canada, Bhutan, and the United States in collective prayers for peace, harmony, and the wellbeing of all beings.

Promoting Mental Health and Well-Being

In today’s fast-changing world, many individuals face emotional stress, anxiety, loneliness, and uncertainty. Supporting mental health and inner well-being has become an essential part of building healthy and compassionate communities. At Amala Center Nepal, we believe that cultivating inner peace, mindfulness, and compassion can play a powerful role in supporting emotional resilience and mental well-being.

Under the guidance of His Eminence Gegye Yongyal Rinpoche, a respected spiritual leader within the Kagyu–Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, Amala Center Nepal provides a welcoming space where individuals from all backgrounds can learn and experience the benefits of meditation, spiritual practice, and community support. Rinpoche’s vision is to make authentic Buddhist teachings accessible to everyone, offering tools that help individuals develop greater awareness, calmness, and emotional balance.

Through the center, highly qualified Khenpos and Lopons are invited to guide participants in meditation practice, Buddhist philosophy, and scriptural study. These teachings help individuals cultivate mindfulness, compassion, and clarity—qualities that are essential for maintaining mental and emotional well-being. The center regularly offers meditation sessions, spiritual guidance, and short retreats ranging from one hour to seven days, allowing participants to step away from daily stress and reconnect with a sense of inner peace.

In addition to meditation and teachings, Amala Center Nepal provides prayers, rituals, and spiritual guidance free of charge. These practices offer comfort, healing, and emotional support to individuals and families during difficult times.

One of the most meaningful initiatives connected to this mission is the Global World Peace Prayer Movement, which brings together practitioners and communities from Nepal and around the world—including India, Taiwan, Canada, Bhutan, and the United States—to collectively pray for peace, compassion, and the well-being of all beings.

Your sponsorship helps make these programs possible. By supporting Amala Center Nepal, you help create opportunities for individuals to access meditation teachings, spiritual guidance, and community support that nurture mental health, inner peace, and well-being.

Together, we can help build a more compassionate and emotionally resilient world—one mind, one community, and one act of kindness at a time.
