The Third World Peace Prayer at Boudhanath
The Third World Peace Prayer at Boudhanath
Continuing the growing tradition of universal prayer for peace and the liberation of all beings, Gegye Yongyal Rinpoche organized the Third World Peace Prayer in Nepal on April 24, 2023 at the sacred Boudhanath Stupa for two days.
This gathering was organized at the heartfelt request of Rinpoche’s mother, who wished that more prayers be offered for the wellbeing of the world and for the countless beings who had passed away without the benefit of traditional spiritual rites.
Responding with deep devotion and compassion, Rinpoche invited respected Khenpos and Rinpoches from the Nyingma lineage to join the ceremony. The prayer assembly grew into a powerful spiritual gathering with over 200 monks and more than 100 devoted disciples participating in the sacred rituals and chants.
Within the holy environment of the Boudhanath Stupa—one of the most revered centers of Buddhist practice and pilgrimage—monks and practitioners united in prayer, dedicating the merit for world peace, the healing of suffering, and the liberation of all sentient beings.
The ceremony further strengthened Rinpoche’s vision of World Peace Prayers as a compassionate offering for humanity, bringing together monastics, spiritual teachers, and devoted disciples in a shared aspiration for harmony and compassion throughout the world.
Through these continuing gatherings, Rinpoche demonstrated that sincere prayer, when offered with pure intention and collective devotion, can become a powerful blessing for the entire universe.
