The Fifth World Peace Prayer – An International Collaboration

As the World Peace Prayer gatherings continued to grow, the Fifth World Peace Prayer marked an important moment of international collaboration and inter-lineage unity within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

On February 19, 2025, Gegye Yongyal Rinpoche led the fifth gathering with the support of several organizations and spiritual communities. The event was sponsored by Zero Point Meditation in the United States and Amala Center Nepal, and co-organized by Bhuval Dada Youth Club in Nepal.

To strengthen the unity of different Buddhist traditions, Rinpoche invited respected teachers and monastics from multiple lineages. Among the honored guests was Jigme Gyurmed Rinpoche from the Nyingma lineage. The ceremony also welcomed Khenpos and Ani (Buddhist nuns) from the Gelug and Sakya traditions.

This gathering reflected the true spirit of Buddhist harmony—bringing together monks, nuns, Rinpoches, Khenpos, and devoted practitioners from different traditions in a shared aspiration for world peace, compassion, and the liberation of all beings.

Through collective prayers, chanting, and offerings, the Fifth World Peace Prayer continued the compassionate mission initiated by Rinpoche years earlier—to dedicate spiritual merit for those who have passed away, for those suffering in times of conflict, and for the wellbeing of humanity as a whole.

With participation from both Nepal and the international Buddhist community, the ceremony demonstrated that the aspiration for peace transcends borders, cultures, and traditions—uniting practitioners across the world in a single prayer for harmony and awakening.
